Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 12th May 2026
Operated by Generative Spark Inc. (Delaware, USA)
Written for everyone. Every section of this Privacy Policy includes a "For Kids" box that explains it in plain words, so children can understand it too, not only the grown-ups.
Welcome to Marble's Privacy Policy
Hi parents! We care deeply about your family's privacy. This policy explains how Marble, operated by Generative Spark Inc., collects, uses, and protects information from both you and your child when you use our voice-based thought partner across web, mobile, and smart-TV apps.
If you have any questions, please reach us anytime at privacy@withmarble.com.
By using Marble, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms and Conditions.
Quick answer: does Marble record my child?
Marble is a voice assistant, so it listens and responds while your child is talking, just like Siri or Alexa. We use that conversation only to talk with your child, support their learning, and keep them safe. We never sell it, never show ads, and never use it to train AI without a parent's explicit permission. Everything is encrypted and deleted when you close the account.
1. Who We Are
Marble is a voice-based thought partner for children and parents, designed to support creativity, curiosity, and learning. The data controller responsible for your personal information is:
Generative Spark Inc.
Registered in Delaware, USA
Email: privacy@withmarble.com
2. What Information We Collect
We collect information to make Marble work smoothly and safely for your family.
a. Information you provide
- Parent information — name, email address, payment details, and any messages or conversations you have with Marble
- Child information — name, age, and other profile details you share when setting up your child's Marble profile
- Audio and conversation data — what your child says to Marble, transcripts, and generated responses
- Generated images — visuals created by Marble based on input
- User images — images submitted by the user to show a child's work. Photos should be of objects, artwork, projects, or other creations — not of people. Marble automatically screens uploaded images and rejects photos that appear to contain people; rejected images are not stored.
- Support messages
b. Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type
- IP address and general location (not precise)
- Usage data such as session time, app version, and actions taken
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your and your child's data to:
- Deliver and improve Marble's experiences
- Enable conversations and generate responses
- Personalize learning and creative experiences
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Communicate with you about updates, support, and new features
- Maintain safety, security, and product quality
- Comply with legal obligations (like COPPA, GDPR and GDPR-UK)
We never sell personal data. We do not use your or your child's personal data to train or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning models unless you give us explicit permission. With your opt-in consent, we may use:
- Voice recordings and their transcripts — to train and improve speech-to-text (STT) models, either our own or those of our STT providers (see Section 4).
- Conversation transcripts — to evaluate, fine-tune, and otherwise improve Marble's own language models and conversational behavior.
A single opt-in covers both uses: opting in enables both, and opting out (the default) excludes both. The opt-in is a clear, separate choice in the Marble app, off by default, and you are not required to give it to use Marble. For children, only a parent or guardian can opt their child in. Before any recordings or transcripts are used for training or model improvement, we apply automated, best-effort redaction to remove personally identifiable information (such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers). Because automated redaction is imperfect, we cannot guarantee that every piece of personal information will be removed. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app or by contacting privacy@withmarble.com. Aside from these uses, we only use your data to run and improve Marble.
4. Who We Share Data With
We share limited data with trusted partners who help us operate Marble safely and effectively:
- RevenueCat — Subscription and in-app purchase management
- LiveKit — Real-time audio streaming
- ElevenLabs — Text-to-speech voice generation
- Speechmatics — Speech-to-text transcription (recordings may also be used to improve their STT models — see Section 3)
- Anthropic — Language and conversation understanding and generation
- Google Cloud Platform — Hosting, secure data storage (Cloud Storage), authentication (Firebase), image moderation (Cloud Vision), and language/image/conversation understanding and generation (Gemini, Vertex AI)
- fal.ai — Image generation for activities and illustrations
- PostHog — Product analytics
- Sentry — Error tracking and reliability monitoring
- Temporal IO — Workflow automation for Marble's AI sessions
- Mailersend — Transactional and consent emails
These partners only process data on Marble's behalf and must meet strict confidentiality, safety, and compliance standards. We never allow them to use data for their own marketing or profiling.
5. How Long We Keep Information
Marble keeps your child's conversation history and creations only while the account is active, so your child can revisit and build on their work, and permanently deletes them when you close the account. Parents may request deletion of specific data at any time. If you have given opt-in consent for model training and improvement (see Section 3), any of your recordings or transcripts that have already been incorporated into a training or fine-tuning dataset are stored in redacted form and may persist within that dataset after consent withdrawal or account deletion, as removing a single sample from a trained model is not technically feasible; we will, however, stop using your data for any new training or improvement runs as soon as you withdraw consent or delete your account.
You can review or erase your family's data anytime by contacting privacy@withmarble.com.
If you delete your account, all related personal data is securely removed unless laws require us to keep it (for example, for payment or legal compliance).
6. How We Protect Information
We use strong technical and organizational safeguards to protect data, including:
- Encrypted data storage and transfer
- Access controls and authentication
- Secure cloud infrastructure
- Regular security reviews and monitoring
While no system can be 100% secure, we do everything possible to protect your data from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.
7. Your Rights (Parents and Guardians)
You have the right to:
- Access your data and your child's data
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Delete your or your child's data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Export data to another provider (data portability)
- Complain to your local data protection authority if you're in the UK or EU
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@withmarble.com.
8. Children's Privacy
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR and GDPR-UK.
- Only parents or guardians can create an account for a child.
- We collect limited information about children (like name, age, what they say to Marble, and creative outputs) to make Marble work.
- We use "email-plus" parental consent to verify permission before a child can use Marble.
- Parents can review, download, or delete their child's information anytime by emailing privacy@withmarble.com or directly in the app.
- We do not display, sell, or share children's data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not use children's data to train or improve AI models unless a parent or guardian has given explicit opt-in consent. Where consent is given, children's voice recordings and conversation transcripts may be used both to train and improve speech-to-text (STT) models and to evaluate and fine-tune Marble's own language models, after best-effort automated PII redaction. A single opt-in covers both uses. This consent is off by default, not required to use Marble, and can be withdrawn at any time in the app or by emailing privacy@withmarble.com (see Section 3 for details).
- Photos uploaded by children are automatically screened; images that appear to contain people are rejected and not stored.
If you believe a child has used Marble without parental consent, contact us immediately so we can delete the account.
9. International Users
Marble is based in the United States but serves families around the world. If you're outside the US, your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our trusted partners operate.
We apply the same protections everywhere and ensure transfers meet GDPR and GDPR-UK standards.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or legal changes. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date.
If major changes affect how your family's data is used, we'll notify you by email or in the Marble app before they take effect.
